Only One More Episode Left of Shameless

Sunday is fast approaching. It’s hard for me to believe that the Series Finale of the US rendition of Shameless is upon us. No more Alibi, Ian and Mickey (Gallavich), bickering Debbie and Lip… no more Liam looking after Frank or badass big heart cop Carl.

I’ve heard so murmuring of how thigs could have be done better, or how a lot of plot holes remain… but you know what? I am not complaining. This show has been a marvelous ride for me. It’s wonderful how long it was on. I think, despite loosing some big characters such as Fiona Gallagher along the way, it still remained really good.

I’ll be heading into the final episode with no expectations and just glad to experience whatever they have left to show us. It couldn’t have been easy filming during the pandemic but I feel they tied in enough real life things to keep it quite accurate while still feeling like Shameless.

The show is really raw, which I think was the initial draw from the majority of people. What kept me around was the characters… their stories, relationships, growths, trials, victories, tears, traumas, recoveries, failures.. and above all the love and support this crazy dysfunctional family has for each other. It may be broken in a lot of ways, but somehow it’s in fact a really strong, tried and true unit of unwavering support.

I suppose I should wait for the final episode, but I’ll still rate the series for now. I may be back to review the final episode and give a proper recap of the series.

There’s so much I’m going to miss about this series. One great thing about it though is it’s re-watch value.

Lucky Romance Episode 8 Recap

Lucky Romance Kdrama Episode8 Banner

Episode 7 and 8 were like night and day. Episode 7 was infuriating in many aspects, but Episode 8 had a very obvious shift in tone. Lots of great things happened.

Let’s take a look.

Lucky Romance… a huge flaw lies within the story itself. This is something they really need to address. I let it go at first, but I cannot let it go any longer. Here’s the flaw: Are the superstitions real or are they coincidence? If they are real within the realm of the drama, then all of Bo Nui’s actions can be justified within the context of the drama (which is ridiculous). If they are not real, and are just coincidences, can they stop with the red pens and the comatose finger twitching? How is Bo Nui ever going to learn that life cannot be controlled using superstitions if things keep happening because of superstitious things. The message of the story is not clear. Their dabbling too much with two different scenarios. I can accept that some things won’t make perfect sense, but can their at least be some logic to it please?

Alright… let’s dive into this mess and see what was good and what had me pulling out my hair.

Ahhhh! The full moon approaches… Bo Nui loses her mind… Soo Ho steps it up… these are a few of the ingredients of episode 6. It was good; it was great even. But it was beyond frustrating in many areas. What happens in the following episodes could either make or break the show. We are reaching the tipping point now (or at least it feels like it). This can’t be right – we’re on episode 6. We will see how they handle the progressing storyline.  In the meantime, let’s take a closer look specifically at episode 6.

Here’s the breakdown.

Oh wow… things are certainly getting interesting now. It was quite the episode as Soo Ho (Ryoo Joon Yeol) reacts to the indecent proposal from Bo Nui (Hwang Jung Eum). Soo Ho also starts to put the pieces together as to why Bo Nui wants to sleep with him in the first place.
